Work and walk, I think Pastor Chris Carter of St. Andrew’s Parry Sound really summarized all the warm and faith-building tributes of all who spoke at the service on Wednesday, August 5th, to celebrate the life of our dear friend and faithful colleague Ray Bauman. Ray was always not just happy he was delighted to work and he used those skills not only to build a prosperous business, he shared them freely with family, friends, neighbours and in Nicaragua through being part of countless short term teams with Threefold.

Ray was also a faithful Christian who quietly and faithfully walked with Jesus and shared his love and talents with all whom God placed in his path from family to strangers. 

Ray was engaged in the ministry of service in Nicaragua from the very beginning.  It was my pleasure to first meet him in April 2006 as part of the very first Threefold Team.  Ray’s quiet and confident faith in God shone through his sharing and his comments at our early morning devotions.  He spoke simply and confidently of his trust in Jesus as so many affirmed as they paid their tributes at the service.  Ray’s last trip to Nicaragua was in November 2019 with the annual construction crew.  He was delighted to have his granddaughter join them and work alongside.

Ray joined the Board of Threefold in 2009 and served faithfully until his cancer would no longer allow.  We could always count on Ray’s wise words in our deliberations. 

In tribute to Ray’s faithful ministry through Threefold, the Board has named the workshop at Skylark in his honour, the place where he spent so much time working and teaching and encouraging our staff and countless other team members over the years.

We will miss Ray’s smile, his eagerness to work in Nicaragua, his friendship and his faithful witness.  We will miss his support and encouragement in this ministry.  Our prayers are with his wife and children and their families and the many who like us grieve his passing.  https://torrancefuneralhome.com/funeral/raymond-s-bauman/
