The Skylark Retreat Centre is the foremost project of Threefold Ministries, born out of a desire to assist Nicaraguan Churches by providing a multi-use facility to congregate and raise up its leadership. The mandate has expanded since the grand opening in 2007. The primary purpose remains the same with the additional component of providing accommodations for teams from outside of Nicaragua looking to participate in Christian activities in support of the Nicaraguan people.  The Centre is also our home base for the operation of our community outreach programs.  

Facilities

The Skylark Retreat Centre is a well-maintained and fully-equipped facility that provides the following services for local Nicaraguan groups as well as visiting mission teams, the cost of which will be advised upon the group booking:

• 5 dormitory style buildings with 14 bunk beds in each
• 14 double/matrimonial rooms with private bath
• Overall sleeping accommodation for approximately 200 guests
• Full-service kitchen serving up to 3 meals per day
• Multi-use open air auditorium with capacity for 600 people
• Closed auditorium with capacity for 80 people
• Audiovisual equipment
• Sports facilities and equipment for basketball, indoor or outdoor soccer, beach volleyball and baseball
• Swimming pool
• Snack shop
• Several ranchitos for dining and for small event or meeting purposes
• Wireless internet
• Laundry services
• Peaceful setting with 24-hour security

The Centre is located on 9 acres in the community of Los Medranos, 45 minutes from Managua in the department of Carazo on the outskirts of San Marcos.  Set at a higher elevation than Managua, the temperature is more moderate in comparison.

Events

Locally, the Centre specializes in Youth camps and spiritual retreats.  We offer an extraordinary location, great food, excellent service, a friendly staff and pleasant weather to provide the best experience for participants. Groups of all ages visit us including seniors, young adults, men, women, college students, high school and elementary students and married couples. They all come to learn, play and worship in our facilities where they find a time to share and experience God.

Booking an Event at the Skylark Retreat Centre
Events are as varied as the groups that visit the Centre!  Please contact us to determine availability, options and costs based on your requirements and vision for your event.  Our calendar fills up quickly, and many groups book the facilities on a year-over-year basis, so please contact us as early as possible in your planning time.  We will ask you and your group to follow the Guidelines that will be provided which are set out for your safety and for the well-being of all.

Many protocols were implemented during the COVID pandemic including enhanced regular and surface cleaning, social distancing and security screening.  Additional wash facilities were installed.  Ask us about our guidelines and further information outlining what visitors can and should expect as we work together to keep everyone safe and healthy.
